Pranav Kannan,

Director of Disability Rights & Advocacy

Pranav is a senior from Cary, NC majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Pranav has served as the Director of Disability Rights & Advocacy for the past two years. Pranav led the Duke Disability Expo last year, and his goal is to create a more accessible campus experience.

Haiden Bowling,

Director of LGBTQIA+ Affairs

Haiden is junior from Manchester, KY majoring in Political Science and Psychology and minor in Education. Haiden has previously served as a Senator for DCA, and this will be Haiden’s second year as Director of LGBTQIA+ Affairs. Haiden’s main goal for this year is to develop partnerships with queer organizations on and off campus, develop a comprehensive plan for protection of queer students at Duke, work to affirm Duke’s commitment to their LGBTQIA+ students, and overall amplify voices of gay students from all corners of Duke’s campus.

Aditi Avinash,

Director of Gender Equity & Violence Prevention

Aditi is a sophomore from Castle Pines, CO utilizing Program II to combine the fields of Public Policy, Ethics, and Medicine while also completing the Health Policy Certificate. This is Aditi’s first year in DSG (welcome!!) and her main goal for this year is to partner with GVEO to revamp the freshman orientation curriculum!

Ebony Kalin,

Director of International Student Outreach & Policy

Ebony is a sophomore from Hāwera, New Zealand, majoring in Public Policy and International Comparative Studies. This is her first year in DSG (welcome!!), and her goal is to build a more cohesive, informed, and engaged Duke community that connects students across cultures, disciplines, and campuses.

Labiba Siddequi,

Director of First-Generation & Low-Income Affairs

Labiba is a sophomore from Queens, NY double majoring in Chemistry and Global Health. As a passionate advocate for community-driven initiatives, Labiba is one of the co-founders of LeadWISER Advocacy Research Program, which provides mentorship for high school students to initiate community projects. She also leads partnerships and serves as a core team member of the Durham Mentoring Alliance as the Director of Community Outreach at Thomas Mentor Leadership Academy. This is Labiba’s first year in DSG (congrats!!), and her approach centers on creating tailored opportunities for career development, entrepreneurial workshops, and financial literacy, along with steps to reduce travel and storage costs. She grounds her initiatives in student feedback, listening sessions, collaborations, and a deep commitment to build a stronger FGLI community that integrates seamlessly into the broader Duke experience.

Ahnaf Hossain,

Director of Pratt Affairs

Ahnaf is a senior from Auburn, AL majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Chemistry. This is Ahnaf’s first year in DSG (welcome!), and his goal for this year is to help incoming freshmen who are interested in Pratt feel more prepared to take on the school year by exposing them to the many opportunities that Duke has to offer. He wants to ensure that the Pratt student body can learn and enjoy the school year with many great events, making it a successful year.

Director of Student Wellness

Parishi Patel,

Director of Religious Life

Parishi is a junior from Mooresville, NC majoring in Political Science and International Comparative Studies and minoring in Asian & Middle Eastern Studies. Her main goal for her first year in DSG is to promote cross-collaboration between religious groups in order to foster a space for students to come together to share and learn about religious beliefs/traditions. Parishi aims to serve as a bridge and representative for undergraduate religious organizations, ensuring that they are provided with equitable and accessible resources to support their respective communities.

Monica Balakrishnan,

Director of Varsity Student Athlete Affairs

Monica is a senior from Houston, TX majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Political Science. This is Monica’s first year in DSG, and her main goal is to enhance the student-athlete experience by creating meaningful opportunities for career development, leadership, and campus involvement. Monica aims to do this by hosting inclusive events, fostering stronger connections between student-athletes and the Duke community, and helping bridge gaps in knowledge and access to resources. By amplifying student-athlete voices, Monica aims to ensure the community’s contributions are recognized, perspectives valued, and skills translated into success beyond Duke, all while upholding Duke Athletics’ core values.
