Spring '26 Election Information

Duke Student Government’s Spring 2026 General Elections have arrived! If you want to drive positive change on Duke’s campus next school year, you should run for a position in DSG. The General Elections cycle includes candidates running to become Senators, Vice Presidents, the Executive Vice President, and the President. The General Elections are overseen by the DSG Attorney General and the Board of Elections. 

Election Timeline

  • February 24: Registration of Candidacy OPENS on DukeGroups
  • March 2 @6:30pm: Election Information Session (Physics 128)
  • March 15th: Registration for Candidacy CLOSES
  • March 16 & 17 @8:00am: Board of Elections Releases Official List of Candidates
  • March 17 @8:00am: Candidates Are Notified of Certification
  • March 18 @5:00pmMandatory Information Session (Old Chemistry 116)
  • March 19: Campaigning BEGINS
  • March 30: Voting OPENS
  • March 31 @12:00pm: Voting CLOSES & Campaigning ENDS
  • March 31: Campaign Budgets Due
    • Sent to Treasurer and Attorney General no later than one hour after polls close
  • March 31 @ 1:00pm: Intent to File Petitions Due
    • Sent to Attorney General & Board of Elections
  • March 31: Certification of Results
  • March 31: Candidates Informed of Results
  • April 1: Announcement of Results
  • April 8: Inauguration at End of Year Banquet
